Stuck in a traffic jam comign back to London and the car started to idle badly. Would drop to 200rpm or so then the stepper (I assume) would open and recover. I was low on fuel (less than 1/4 tank) and the engine was stuck at 90 for several minutes. On Sunday I filled the car up and the idle was smooth as normal.

Anyone else experienced this? Fuel vapourisation? My stepper is fine before anyone suggests!

When you fueled up did you notice a rush of air when you took the fuel filler cap off?
You might have a bit of a vacuum in the tank when low on juice.
Could be you carbon canister is fubar or the valve in said item which vents the tank to atmosphere.
Just a thought.
Paul.
