Just to give you a heads up as to what happened to me on Friday afternoon down the road from Rossmore....

Ended up taking a day off work after rolling in Friday morning at 5 am from a works night out.

Went out to wash the car as I went up north for a mates wedding so thought I'd get the car done properly and on the way home have to drive through one of the less desirable places in Bournemouth.

Driving along Herbert Avenue and there's this kid in the middle of the road picking something up. So I slow down with traffic behind me and let the little scroate cross over.

Whilst he's doing this I didn't see his 6 / 7 mates at the side of the road. Next thing I hear / feel is a really loud thud as one of the fkers threw a rock or something at the elise.

So I stop the car to get out and then have second thoughts

Getting out and smacking the st out of 6 12 - 15 year olds wouldn't be the best thing to do and I'd be the one in trouble, not to mention holding up rush hour traffic.

Pull over and call the dibble and report the crime. To be fair to the cops they want to inspect the car even though the damage doesn't look that bad, couple of marks similar to stone chips and seems like they want to investigate it some more.

I just still can't believe the fking audacity of the little bds though and they all think they're fking hard standing there goading me.

Next time I'll run the fker over driving

Pisses me right off.

Holey crap! Little sods.

I dont know if I would have shown the same restraint.

The trouble is if you catch them and just simply wait for the coppers, you will be prosecuted.

There is no way to win.

I had some little sod throwing rocks at me (in my old CRX) off the foot bridge near tower park. Broke the windscreen. I saw red and went to the tower park side and they just legged it to the other side. No chance of catching the delenquents. Police were not even interested.

JUst another warning. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the police will be camping on Wallisdown road doing "spot checks".

I am sure that all the BoLOCs cars have nothing to worry about but it is nice to avoid the hassle. Especially if you are like me and answer a stupid question with a snotty reply. Never ends well....

Cheers for the heads up about Wallisdown. Will avoid it, even though I have nothing to worry about.

Police are coming round this evening to have a look at the car. Even though I said I wasn't fussed if they didn't seeing as it's not that bad.

Prosecuted for what? If you're restraining someone (and I mean sensibly... ish...) what can you be done for?

If you physically stop them from leaving (while you wait for the plod) the range of charges is huge. From "falce imprisonment" (I have a friend who found a 14 year old kid in his garage steaing tools. He took him in the house and sat him in the kitchen while the plod finally arrived, he was charged with falce imprisonment). If you in any way touch the scrote to prevent him from leaving, this is assault.

The defination of Sensibly is very open to interpretation. I've seen shop lifters stopped by security guards, who have then just pushed past them and guard just look at the manager and tell him he can do no more. Madness. People are justifiably scared of being prosecuted for assult

and one must also bear in mind that there are now a number of laws that prevent adults from accosting children - and the little stes know this...

Absolutely crazy... I'd still fancy my chances of getting away with it though, I don't class myself as 'adult' yet anyway ha ha

I think that's why "lower" parkstone makes a lot of it's geographical separation from the herbert avenue parkstone.

I'd be tempted to pick the stones back up and throw them back, they obviously cant complain if you are giving them their property back biggrin

The police phoned me last night to discuss what had happened.

Basically told me that the block of flats the chav's ran behind is an old peoples home and they're regularly hanging out there causing trouble. But unfortunately they can't have a bobbie there all day long....

Agreed with the fact that I'd have ended up in trouble as opposed to them if I had tried to tackle them myself...

Very frustrating indeed.

After reading this post yesterday I thought I recognised the road name but could not place it immediately until..........

Driving home last night at approx 7pm on the same route as I always do, I noticed two police cars all down HERBERT AVENUE before and after the roundabout on opposite sides of the road. Realising which road was Herbert Ave. it then dawned on me this was the trouble area and there was a large group of kids down by the corner. Luckily NO stones, but it will make me a bit more aware!
