"Backup" candid Wedding 'tog critique requested
Discussion
Not done this before - I could do with some honest criticism on my secondary wedding role of candid snappery. I'm extraordinarily self critical yet the couple are very happy with these before they've seen the "pro". (The pro has an interesting business model - he had a well low daily rate but charged for every pic chosen after the event - kind of implies his confidence in his end result)

hi
In general I would say they look great. My only negative would be that some need to be cropped. This one for example http://flyingbadger.smugmug.com/gallery/4811628_iv...
Other than that great!

Even that ones quite good. Something about them puts a smile on my face - who says that wedding photography has to be "conventional". Theres way more to it than a bunch of posed images, something a little more candid will capture the true emotion of the event. In general I would say they look great. Cracking shots.
As has been mentioned a few tighter crops may add a "contemporary" angle.
Maybe offer the B&G two sets - one as you have them, and a version of shots with a bit more of the tight crops / funky angles / maybe ramp up the contrast etc...
I'd be happy with those to help me remember my big day.

Graham,
Good selection of shots, I've done quite a few weddings as 2nd tog primarily to capture 'those' moments. Just a few observations, try and avoid getting the main tog in any shots (photos of friends and family with there cameras are great though), there are a couple of shots that I'm guessing are posing for the main tog (the subjects are all posed and looking in a set derection) again these shots should be avoided, have a look at the people that are watching this happening, they are normally not expecting a camera aimed at them.
Alot depends on what freedom your 'boss' is giving you and what equipment you have access to, when I'm shooting one of these weddings I use a Canon 35-350mm L, lots of range for getting those moments when the subjects on the other side of the garden and think they are out of range

I like the pics and am going to a couple of weddings this summer and look forward to trying out a few new (pinched) ideas.
One question - how did you add the frames? I can do this in CS2 but only picture by picture and not in batch.
LR/Mogrify - it's a plugin for Lightroom that uses ImageMagick. One question - how did you add the frames? I can do this in CS2 but only picture by picture and not in batch.
Cheers folks. As I mentioned, the B&G said they were very happy with them.
But then, they would.
It's my dad

Hence being after a somewhat less biased opinion

Simpo - they were processed on a laptop so it's possible they're not bang on. Not really going to have an opportunity to do anything about it for a while, so I've given the old man the RAWs if he wants to get someone to fiddle with them.
