Defender door hinges.

Hi to you all.
I've just bought a bottom front door hinge for my 90 and found that it has a fair bit of play in the hinge pin. If I hold both 'leaves' I can move them away from each other for about 1/2 to 1mm and if I twist them, I can get quite a few degrees of movement in any direction.
Is this normal for Landy hinges? The supplier says that it is!
I am surprised. Can anyone help?

Ta. I looked at some at Gaydon and they all seem the same. It must ba a Land Rover thing!!!
