I am in the very fortunate position of having to put together the spec for my new LP560 Gallardo.

The options list has changed dramatically since I had one of the first cars and I was looking for a little advice on what to go for - or not as the case may be. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Do you plan on using it on the track -if so carbon ceramic brakes

Whats your parking like ( not meaning to be rude) - reversing camara

Do you tend to go to places you have never been - sat nav

Personally i like the carbon interior pack but personal preference

I like the egear system, it gives a very sporty feel to the gear change and if you plan on using it on the track it will be easier for changing gear.

it would help to list the options you have as it is a new car so not everyone will no whats availible

If this is going to be anevery day car cearfully consider the leather colour as the cream will be very hard to keep clean so when you sell (if ever) the dirty leather will lower the price

Just out of interest, does Sat Nav help residual values or not really?

Andy & I have just ordered an LP560 for 6th Gear due in September (hopefully the second or third car over here).
The first batch will come with a series of extras which is compulsory. In other words you can't have one unless you order the following which ours will have to have : Sat Nav - waste of space, Glass engine cover, paddleshift frown branding pack, callisto rims, lifting mechanism.

We're going for Lime green with black leather and lime green interior. Plus black callisto rims. smile

According to the press release, a manual can be as easily specc'd as a paddleshift...

here's some copy from the press kit (one is to be loved of that tortured using Englishness!!)

It is still the customer’s personal preference as to whether to change gears manually through the exact ‘gate’ guides of the six speed gearbox via the short gear stick, or whether to let the fingertips control the e.gear’s paddle shift system

ps morning Simon - sunshine is bigness in Lancashire today, will call soon!

I would hazard around £160k.

Stitched q'intura (sp?) stitching a must.

I think he means that the first 'batch' of cars are only being made with the paddleshift transmission. This limited options thing on new models off of a production line is not uncommon with most manufacturers; I would imagine they are still perfecting certain options after the car goes on general sale, either that or they want to make as much money as possible out of the early adopters so bang on a load of compulsory options. hehe

p.s. nice colour combination Simon. Will we be seeing it in EVO?

Mine will be one of the first customer specced cars rather than decided on by a man in Italy.

Apparently most seem to be coming with e-gear but I am inclined to go for the manual. Love the look of the gate and not a big fan of paddle shifts - just never been able to get on with them.

Unlikely to track the car so carbon brakes an expensive option. Thought maybe pearl white / black leather / wheels not sure - glass engine cover /sat nav --what do the various carbon interior packs look like ?? anyone got any pics that they could post for me to see ?

Not sure on odd things like ipod connectors/bluetooth/stereo upgrades/dark lights/white indicators --- think I need a trip to Manchester to go through it all

I thought the 1st cars are arriving in July?

By the time you spec a car with paint, ceramics, engine cover, egear, wheels, nav etc you are looking at £170k +.

By the way has anyone seen Bianco Canopus in the flesh? I believe this was the new matt white as per the Geneva launch car. How did this compare to the Balloon White?

160 ( still exc ceramics ) was about my reckoning : should lessen the new model impact on 2007 residuals slightly
qcitura, i believe

Well I'm afraid to say Andy & I botttled it on the Lime Green. Resale and all that. Have gone for Pearl Yellow with a black/yellow 'duo sportif' interior,(I have a fetish for yellow interiors) black callisto rims, yellow calipers, glass engine cover, lifting mechanism, clear indicators, egear frown style pack (few glossy exterior black bits here and there), sat nav and Nav trak. All those options apart from the colour/interior/clear indicators, are compulsory on the first batch expected July.
I would think it may take over from the LP in fast fleet - see what the ed says smile

Si and I had another discussion and we chickened out in the end with the Lime green! The spec went into the factory yesterday was: Yellow with Black calisto's and yellow calipers. The interior is the compulsary black/yellow per the LP640!.

I know it's a small point but I think you are crazy not to get the SatNav because it is a good system (at least relative to the crap Ferrari one) and on resale non-SatNav cars appear to really suffer.

IMO Glass engine cover is a must - just looks so good

A quick dealer point of view... the cost of the sat nav is a least recovered in the residual value of the car. I would say that a car without is actually worth quite a bit less. We find that on late used cars it is expected by most people enquiring. I would advise caution before choosing to leave it off.

The car looks good. Looking forward to driving one in a couple of weeks.

That is a great shame.
The lime green is the only colour I would choose.
