535d Emissions

My 535d Tourer has had it's first MOT today at 111,634 miles. Whilst I wasn't expecting anything to be wrong with it, I was a bit surprised by the advisory item :

001 Unable to carry out emissions test due to emissions readings too low for gas analiser (sic) to register.

Now writing to DVLA for my RFL refund for the last 3 years :-)

Has your car been remapped and have you had any problems with the car covering that distance ?

No remap, no mechanical issues. There's a few trim warranty items to be resolved before it expires at the end of this week.

has it ever had new turbos or any engine item/gearbox item?

Did you buy the car brand new?

May i suggust this may be the highest mile x53d engine around so far! Nice one bud!

Yes, bought new in May 05.

No, nothing on drivetrain whatsoever. The only warranty items have been trim related.

The car is frequently used for towing (1030kg racecar + trailer + assorted bits and pieces) and not given the easiest life, even the odd stint on track ;-)

:-) I guess so. TBH I hadn't realised that the only test for a diesel was to measure smoke density. It does raise one point though - my DPF is showing as due for replacement in 15,000 miles, not sure I'll bother as it seems to be doing a perfectly fine job (although probably now weights 700kg !)

They're supposed to be self cleaning but perhaps the cleaning efficiency decreases with time?

So the DPF has never been replaced?

How frequently did you do oil serviced mate over the life of the vehicle!
