I've read many report that suggest early clutch failure is due to over stressing the spring fingers. Has anyone made a DIY clutch stop. I've taken a look at the pedal and it looks like it would be possible to mount a stop on the spare thread on the end of the bold used to hold the clutch cylinder in place.

Basically I plan to bore and tap a small length of steel tube with the appropriate thread. This would screw onto the end of the clutch cylinder bolt. Then I'll screw a bolt, with locking nut, into the tube. The head of the bolt (which I'll enlarge with a welded plate) would limit the clutch pedal travel.

Can anyone see a flaw in the plan or offer a better solution.

Adjusting the peddle to its longest reach will have a similar effect, there must be at least 3" of adjustment in the standard peddles, assuming its then not too far away from you that is hehe
