As a new member am looking to buy a Heuer Carerra. What is the learned opinion of members between original Carerra or Re Edition by Tag Heuer.
I imagine price mainly and can you recomend a dealer in UK where I could see a selection. I am not experienced or game to buy sight unseen on internet.

Original for me.

Am sure there's a poster on here that sells them.

Original Carrera every time, but obviously much pricier. As a second choice the re-edition with "Heuer" on the dial and the Lemania movement.

Not easy to find.

Good places to start googling: Heuerboy or OnTheDash or Chronomaster

Spot the difference...

Current TAG model on right , Heuer (Lemania) reissue on left.... worlds apart in size, movement, and just generally. Look at the size difference for a start- the originals are smaller too.
Heuer reissues and the original 60s ones (with a couple of exceptions) are manual wind and only a couple have date windows- the new TAG logo'd ones are automatic and have date windows.

Would love an original 60s one, but finding one, let alone a decent one, can sometimes be a pain, as it often is with anything vintage..

Agree would like to get original Heuer or the Heuer Re-issue. Any idea of prices and any recommendations for good dealer.
Can I assume buying from dealer, the watch wil be in good condition.
What are the possibilities of buying a Heuer that is just short of requiring a recondition. No doubt these questions have been asked before, but am feeling a bit nervous buying a 40 + year old watch

Heuerboy is good for info on the models.

For vintage ones, ebay is is a good source- not many fake vintages about. Just buy from a reputable seller, and go inspect it or get it checked out by a dealer when you go to buy it.
As long as you do your research on the model(s) you like, then there is no reason to get burned.
