chassis protection
Discussion
Having just spent a fair bit of time chipping off loose poweder coating, rust etc and hameriting my newly aquired chimaera's chassis I was wondering if anyone had ever fitted 'internal' mud flaps in the front and rear wheel arches to protect the chassis outriggers from the bombardment of road muck? I thought it might be possible to simply bond a sheet of rubber onto the inner wing which could then hang down over/to the level of the chassis tubes and therefore protect them.
Has anyone tried this?

I have just done this to my S. Different car, but the same principle. To stop stones being flung at the front outrigger, I have adapted a rubber car mat and screwed/bolted it to the inner wing.
