After a few months of daily use since I picked up the Elise S from Christopher Neil, it's finally time for the 'white beast' to take its first proper road trip. To Prague. smokin

We're taking the Eurotunnel to Calais first thing Friday and heading straight down to Reims for a peek at the old grand prix circuit and a bit of bubbly shopping. The plan is then for an early start on Saturday, blasting through Germany to Prague in time for dinner, a few cheeky beers and some, erm, evening entertainment.

Later start on Sunday silly, before making our way back to Calais for late Monday afternoon.

Anything I should know before I go? Apart from the contact details of my local psychiatrist, obviously.

Check your insurance, they're usually sniffy about Eastern Europe.

If they're still on SELOC you could try asking Chris Timson or Paul Hogan. They did a trip to eastern Europe as an alternative to Stelvio back in '02 and went to Prague iirc.

Didn't go to Prague in '02 - it was underwater. However I scratched the itch this summer and went. We got a lot of grief at the border: there were several flash GB cars pulled to the side of the road and I got taken into a booth to show my papers. Once inside I saw that they had a faxed list of Canonball entrants that they were referring to. I relaxed as I knew I wasn't on it but decided to stick to the speed limit for the rest of my journey to Prague. The roads in Prague are 'agricultural' and you must remember that trams can't swerve. I can recommend satnav as a 5 star essential. There is no way I'd have found our hotel or gotten onto the right road for home without it.
Can also recommend a quick diversion to Colditz Castle on your way there/back, if you like that sort of thing.

IIRC there are a couple of SELOC members who live, or have lived, in Prague. Perhaps worth putting a post up to get recommendations.

Don't let Tony H see those pictures of your dirty car - he'll be over with his buckets!

Nice pics, car looks really sharp in white, cool.

Good work! Prague is great. Coincidently, we flew out the day you drove in from the sounds of it. You didn't see this pair going about while you were there by any chance? Sounded awesome...
