Does anyone know of a company still making Karmann Ghia replicas? I've seen a few places doing doors and wings but I'd like the whole thing.

I know the originals aren't very expensive, but I want one as a daily driver and want to make some alterations to 'modernise' it a bit. If anyone knows of a secondhand replica out there that might be for sale (in virtually any condition but under about £4k), please let me know.

Cheers

Might be, er, pushing the budget a little, but this is one of my all time favourite cars:

Wasn't there a company called Ghia Studio or something? I saw them at the Volksworld show a while back and think they also advertised in the back of the magazine...

Thanks for the replies, I've been trying to track down Ghia Studios but think they must have stopped trading. Suppose I'll just keep my eyes on the classified and subscribe to some more magazines, there must be an unfinished/abandoned one in a garage somewhere!

I'll also have a good look round at Stoneleigh and try not to convince myself that a Speedster will do the job, unless it was a 356 coupe replica...

Cheers

I rather like the Spyder too - it looks like it needs a little extra work, but the basic shape is quite nice - half way between a Boxster and a 550 Speedster.

I think JPS do one, in the US but with current exchange rates may well be worth importing... There are some pics of one in the replica bit of the ddk forum

Cheers for that, haven't looked on Ebay for a day or two so will check it out when I get home (can't view Ebay at work). I'm starting to consider a real one although I would still prefer a replica if anyone has one for sale...
