I just checked Garmin's site. The 2008 maps are available @ £51 - is this worth it or would it be better to change the unit? Also is the upgrade easy?

Has anybody bought speed camera information from Garmin? I am going on a long European tour next month and would really like to be fully up to date with maps and camera locations.

Can't say about the maps as I've never upgraded mine. Don't know what Garmin's coverage of European cameras is like, but their UK database is not as up to date as the one available from pocketgpsworld. I think the subscription to pocketgps is cheaper too.

If you have yet to activate your free trial of Garmin's camera database this would be an ideal opportunity. However I had brief experience (see another post) of using the pocketgpsworld information and it seems very comprehensive and will use this in future.

Oh I've tried Garmin's free trial and the first camera it warned me about doesn't exist, and has never existed. Based on that experience I reverted back to a database that I've used for a number of years now and know that I can trust.
