Hi,

Had a noise check at Castle Combe on Saturday...failed...105db at 4500rpm.

I think I have standard cans...just sleaved. So what level can I expect if taking the sleaves out??

Cheers

standard cans should pass noise tests, your cats will probably be slightly burnt out so may add very slightly to noise.

Depends how high you rev it. Mine was measured at 92dB with a completely standard exhaust at Silverstone a few weeks ago, but that was only rev'd to about 5k.

I forgot to ask when I had mine tested last, but they commented how quiet it was for a Tuscan,

Less than 102db with standard (un-sleved) cans + cats @ 4500rpm.

can you just rock up to your local garage and ask them to measure it and if so how much? (I'm now wondering whether it appears on the MOT printout - the one I threw away!?)

Are there any tracks or events that don't have noise restrictions???

My standard Tuscan S, standard cans, with recently fitted new CATs was measured at 102dB at 4500 RPM at Castle Combe on Monday at the TVR Car Club track day.

Unfortuntaely I was not allow on track. Very dissappointed. It was ok last year but I think they used to measure at a 0.5 meter distance but this year they measured right on the back of the cans.

But the car does sound great and I would not want it any other way!

Has anyone got track day silencers that fit a tuscan. If so please let me have the details.
