Evening all,

new member, first post - just stumbled across the site and it looks very good!

I'm days away from buying an '05 Gallardo Coupe. Very low mileage, etc etc.

Can anyone please give me pointers before I buy, and also what to expect once I have the car, i.e. service intervals, running costs, etc?

Also, on average, how long before the clutch will need changing & approximately how much will it cost? "Verdi" in Middlesex aren't too far from me, so for future reference regarding services etc etc, would anyone on here recommend I use them... or avoid them?? Or stick to Lambo London?

Please help, as I'm literally a day or two away from getting my hands on my first Lambo, and I'm SERIOUSLY excited, but want to ensure I know what I'm doing before I part with my cash ! lol

Thanks in advance for your help,

Dav.

Service intervals 7,500 miles or yearly. Small service about £1.2k, big one at 15k miles £2.5k. Clutches obviously depend on your driving style, but if you are sensible and the car has the E revision clutch, then some guys on here have got 30k miles from one. A new one, fitted at a Lambo dealer about £4.5k, indies such as Verdi i believe are about half that.
Servicing the same, indies cheaper and will (mostly) do a good job, but i wouldn't fancy selling a G without official dealer stamps. The market is small enough without alienating a good proportion who are fussy about history.
Parts are as you would expect for a low volume, £120k car, bloody expensive, but if you go in with your eyes open, the enjoyment will far outweigh the expense. Had mine for a year and absolutely love it.

New clutch is £3300 + VAT for an e-gear. Other than that servicing costs are pretty much as above.

yeah exactly as has been said, check the obviouse things like tyres, interior wear, also check the oil level and go for a long test drive not a spin round the block

i know it's been said before, but whatever you do, get it professionally inspected : hidden faults on these cars can cost a fortune to rectify

You could do an AA / RAC check but i would reccommend taking it to a registered dealer and get a test and report. if you let them know in advance they could do it while you wait. I would reccommend lamborghini High wycombe, LOndon, Mancester, Edinburough, Birmingham. These are the main dealer in the uk. choose the one nearest you and ask for a test and report.Tehy will check the whole car over and give you a list of faults they find, it will cover, oil leaks, suspension, bodywork and general mechanical items.

They know what to look for.

Thanks for the advice guys - will definitely get it looked at by someone from Lambo before I buy.

Now that just leaves me umming and ahhing over whether or not to go for the '05 import I've seen.

Out of interest, as obvious fans of "exotic" cars, would the fact a car is an import put any of you off buying it?

(I know I've posted a seperate thread on imports, but just after general opinions on the subject as Lambo London & Lambo Manc gave me somewhat conflicting views)

Thanks, D.
