A while ago as I was driving home from work a nova pulled out into the side of me on a roundabout and took off at speed. I can only think from what happened that the driver did it deliberately.
Having moved off the rounabout I parked up and dialled 999 explaining what happened and that I had the reg no of the car. The obviously brain dead operator on the other end said the police were far too busy and rather than waste their time I should go to a police station and report it! I must have been in shock as I said nothing and set off to report it.
On my way I came across a police car, stopped and explained what happened. One very irate BiB then said he was fed up with this decided to call his inspector and requested why in his words a case of "assault with a deadly weapon" was ignored whilst he was wasting time with speeders!
Turned out the car was stolen, had been in 2 previous accidents and one afterwards!
Think it put a different slant on the running of an "emergency" service! I felt relieved it wasnt just us civies who were well and truly cheesed off.
