XBOX 360, just bought one, help!

So I bought an xbox 360 lastnight (for GTA), most of the manuals are in german, not that I read manuals anyway, and I know nothing about them, I have a couple of months of free xbox live, but again know nothing about that, I managed to go online and play a few deathmatches in GTA but don't know how to add buddies etc.

So give me some tricks and tips!

I couldn't get it to see my pc (which is running XP Pro)

Can they play divx files from usb drives?

The bloody thing crashed during setup where it was supposed to be adding people from my msm who had a 360 as well

Add some of the names here in this list you know to your friends list. When in on-line play you'll come accross more PH'ers so send thema friend request then.

Press yellow button when in a game, then green to add friend and type away. Or iirc my frineds on the start up screen.

Start the 360 without a disc in the drive and you are on the dashboard. In the second "XboxLive" tab (the one with your profile) is your friends list.

It should look similar to this (pic ripped from another website, not my profile) - it's actually changed a bit since this was taken.



It's fairly self-explanatory, just have a play and youi will find options to add friends. You just type their gamertag to send an add request.

To get it to see your PC, you need to be running Windows Media Player 10 (or is it 11? the latest one anyway) and add the XB360 to the list of shared devices. I can't remember the exact process but it's not too tricky. There will be plenty of guides on the web.
