"Last Visit" divider thing is always in the wrong place?

Is it just me that's noticed this? The "Last visit" divider thing that pops up in threads to show which posts are new since you last read it, is always in the wrong place. I think it's always one post too early, i.e. is at the top of the last post you read, whereas common sense would dictate that it should be at the bottom, surely?

Are you viewing in ascending or descending order?

Err, dunno which is which
But I am viewing in "standard" order, ie, first post of the thread is at the top of page 1.

I have noticed it's not ALL the time actually - have seen a few threads where it's in the right place and a few where it's wrong. And it's not the case that I haven't scrolled down enough or whathaveyou - on an interesting thread (ie one I will come back to) 99% of the time I read up till the last post made. Then when I re-visit the thread later the divider is at the top of that last post I read, rather than at the bottom of it.
