'Saddest' thing you've ever done?

For me, it has to be recently, where I had two weeks off from work. Because I get loads of holiday at the school I'm working at, I had nothing to do, so I spent pretty much the whole 2 weeks (and we're talking 8 hours a day, 5 days a week) playing R:FoM on the PS3!

Anyone else had marathon sessions of gaming before? That was my first, and hopefully my last!

I'm sure some people must have GTA:4 stories at the moment?

I have R:FoM too, I found it a terrible game! Trying to be call of duty and halo without being half as good as either game.

I suppose my crowning marathon gaming session was about 3 weeks in the summers hols when I was at school, doing all the formula 1 races at FULL length! Sometimes I would have to pause it and leave it overnight

I spent millenium eve playing Half life at a 3 pc lan party. We stoped just before 12 and we were playing again for 5 past.

One of the best new years i've had.

And I quite like R:FoM, but then I haven't really had a chance to play COD4. From what I have played of COD4, I found it a lot more fluid, natural, and realistic, but found the controls were a bit awkward (I guess you get used to it though). I like that with R:FoM you can just pick it up and play, you can choose the games you go in, etc etc. Plus I don't see the point getting COD4 when I have a game that kinda does the same thing (and I get about an hour a week on my PS3 normally, so no point changing games)

I remember one new year, maybe 2004, being quite unwell (as in under the weather, not drunk) so I went home, picked up a chicken kebab (it was lovely, marinated chicken wrapped in a fresh naan with chilli sauce) and spent the next four hours playing Metropolis Street Racer on my Dreamcast which I was reliving at that point. I had a great time.

I once went to a lan party at a hotel in middlesborough, which is about 100 miles north of were i lived at the time (i had to hump a pc and monitor there). Spent most my time getting pissed and playing counterstrike for about 15 hours non-stop. Was fun actually, but must have looked terribly geeky to anyone outside

We used to have 48 hour lan parties in about the early-mid 90's. Doom was the game

On a friday night after school we'd go to my friend's house that had a networked room, we'd buy about 10 bags of 99p jam doughnuts, loads of coke and lots of chewing gum.

By Sunday night we'd be shaking from all the sugar and have arthritis in our alt/ctrl/arrow fingers

Have lost far too many weekends playing online games for whole days, Quake 2, Counterstrike and BF 1942 Desert Combat being the main culprits. 8 hours straight, skipping meals isn't that unusual, although my current GF wouldn't allow that now (which is good).

Also went through an Oblivion phase last summer and turned down a couple of BBQ invites in order to keep playing Amazing game - bit like GTA for the middle ages.

I feel like I've missed out on that 'geeky' bit to my life. When I was younger, all I did was go out on my bike, play football, etc.

I think my saddest moment might be this weekend when I intend to spend most of it playing GTA, only really stopping for food and toilet breaks.

I would just like to add i was 20 when i went to a lan party. Not sure if that makes me better or worse to be honest
