Gemballa GTR Biturbo

The poise and balance of a Boxster coupled with an engine more powerful than God - top stuff

We like Gemballa. They take run of the mill Porsches and modify them pretty extremely yet manage to retain pretty good taste. Given the number of items on each car that they replace or modify, it's a wonder that the cars don't end up looking like the worst examples of Southend boltonarama.

Their latest creation is the GTR Biturbo roadster - a monstrously powerful Boxster conversion. If you love the handling and balance of the Boxster, but want some offensive levels of power then get talking to the Gemballa boys.

They offer many options for creating your own version of the beast, but the basic ingredients are new skirts, bumpers, spoilers, bonnet and paintwork. Thrown in a dash of uprated suspension, a pinch of 6 cylinder braking and you've got yourself a unique car.

That's before you lift the engine cover to discover the Gemballa 3.6 biturbo unit. A subtle 500bhp nestles there ready to do as you command. Power is transmitted through a manual box or a reinforced Tiptronic 'box.

Top stuff

Erm....that's exactly what it does look like to me - maybe not the worst example of the bolt-on-boy's 'art', but that car could not be described as a tasteful or restrained conversion.

I think its horrid myself.

BUT.

The power would be very, very welcome. Chassis ought to be able to take it. If I was to have a Gemballa/Ruf conversion done on mine it would be invisible changes only...

Not sure if I'd want 500bhp and RWD though. Now 460 and 4WD...
