Hi all,

inching ever closer to getting my hands on a Gallardo, however, it transpires that the car I was going to look at/probably buy on Sunday (from an independent dealer), is an import.

Lambo London said "not a problem", where as the guy at Lambo Manchester said "ooh! bit of a question mark over imports! bit risky as you don't know it's full history + may prove difficult to sell on"!

Opinions please - bit gutted as I was really hoping to have a nice shiny yellow Gallardo by Monday morning!

(Also, just to compound matters, I've literally just found out that my second choice Gallardo, from a reputable dealer in Gerrards Cross, appears to have finance outstanding on it!)

Where do I turn next??!!

When you say "import" is it a LHD car?

No it's RHD - 05 plate, low mileage, 1 owner, manual, etc etc.

Everything about the car sounds great, just been put off by what I was told regarding re-sale. Or maybe Manc Lambo would rather I spent my money with them??

Bit confused as I was really keen on this car, and then to find my second choice isn't clear of finance, well that just takes the pi$$!

Assuming its been in the UK all its life, I cant see where the "you dont know its history" statement came from. Non UK cars are worth slightly less but if its the colour combination you like - just pull the trigger and go for it.

My Dec 04 '54' Gallardo was an import and it came from Lambo Manchester (used).

Also when I got a trade in price on it from them they said it made no difference to the price they were offering as it was out of warranty anyway.

What difference does it make to you that one of the cars has finance outstanding? You just pay the finance off and pay the dealer the balance......

Yep - lovely car, only thing that put me off was that I'm after full black leather interior rather than the alacantra. I've emailed him and asked him to keep me posted if he comes across the exact spec I'm after.

Shame really - I got quite excited when I first saw the car on his site!

(The reason I'm so fussy?? Buying a Lambo, outright with no finance, all legit money, before I hit 30, has been an ambition of mine since I was a teenager! Just want to get THE right car!)

Finger's crossed it'll turn up soon!

Regarding the outstanding finance, I would've just preferred the guy to have told me the details before I ran the Hpi check as he knew I was about to do one. Would've saved me calling him and asking "erm, how come it's got outstanding finance on it??!"

Anyway, 53 plate manual for 85k - maybe a little overpriced. The import I've seen is an 05, couple more extras, very low mileage, and 90k.

These kind of prices sound right to you guys?

Sounds very expensive to me.........................I sold my orange 04 with a top spec for less than that 53 plate.....................

The orange one on your profile with the funky wheels? Less than the 53 plate? Bloody shame I didn't find this site sooner - beautiful looking car!

How much do you reckon an 04/05 Gallardo should go for - low mileage, etc etc?
(Again, just after a rough idea from someone obviously in the know)

Honestly, sounds dear. I would have thought early-mid 70s for the earlier car and early 80s for the 05. Depends on condition though, but it is a buyer's market at the moment.

Yep thats the one!!!! It was a gorgeous car, sounds like you missed out, although it had the Alcantara that you don't like......

04/05 prices are on the slide in my opinion. I'd say £75k - £79k for an 04 and £80-£85k for an 05 all dependant on colour, spec and mileage etc etc........give it a few months and I reckon you could knock £5k off those prices....

I wish I could wait a few months, except I want to get my G before I get married at the end of June... a) I don't belive in hiring cars & acting like a hero for a day, and b) You know the mrs won't let me buy a Lambo once she's legally my boss, sorry, I mean wife!! laugh

(Ok, I don't want to reopen a can of worms, but reading through old posts, did that "Stolen-Recovered" character ever post a pic of his phantom Gallardo??)
