5 hours downtime, have you fixed one of the bottlenecks?

Significant progress made, but there's still one server playing up. Will investigate when I get into the office.

The BBC were using the new polling system for all their online graphs on election night so we had to give them exclusive rights tongue out

Hopefully we will have sorted some of the problems out with the work last night (and over the week)

Don't mean this nastily, but could downtime be planned on any other evening other than an election night.

Its quite nice to come onto PH with a few others to discuss the results as they come in.

Probably not the most important reason for PH not to go down, but maybe one to consider next time?

This wasn't planned downtime. As you may have gathered we were having problems with the site which urgently needed addressing.

There's never a good time to take the site down biggrin

Fair enough. Sounded like it was planned when you said "we made progress".

I did make some progress last night, but we'd already decided earlier in the day to do some maintenance that would require it to be offline in the early hours. sleep

Seems much more responsive today, well done chaps.

Gave me an excuse not to stay up all night chatting about the election anyway smile

I didn't think it was planned with the countdown-o-meter swinging wildly from 5 minutes to an hour
