Weber Sportscars Faster One

Odd name, odd looking - but very, very fast

'Help, I'm melting...'
'Help, I'm melting...'
Details have been released on a new Swiss supercar – and we can confirm that it is as fast as it is ugly.

The odd-looking, but strangely appealing in its weirdness, Weber Sportscars faster One promises, as the name suggests, to be quicker than anything else on the road.

260mph is the claimed top speed of this two-seater, which is powered by a twin-turbo 7-litre V8 producing 900bhp and 774lb ft of torque.

Power to weight ratio is said to be 810bhp per ton, which is almost 300 more than the Bugatti Veyron.

The Weber supercar matches the Bug’s 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds and it will accelerate to 124mph from standstill in 6.6 seconds and do 0-186mph in 16.2 seconds.

The car has an aluminium shell and four-wheel drive, with a minimum of 64% of the power going to the rear.

The car also features an F1-style steering wheel which has controls for engine mapping and traction control along with paddles enabling the six-speed sequential gearbox to shift in just 50 milliseconds.

Behind the 20” alloys there are 12-piston fixed callipers gripping 380mm ceramic brakes.

Inside there are such luxuries as power steering, climate control, electric windows, sat-nav and a rear view camera for reversing.

The top speed has yet to be confirmed but the company is soon hoping to officially attempt the title of world’s fastest car held by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, which averaged 256mph in speed testing last year.

After currency conversions, export duty and VAT, the 900bhp car costs a staggering £900,000.

Maybe "purposeful" is the appropriate description ?
p.s. I never was a fan of the recent Audi "Open Mouth" front-but I think I've just found something even more horrible..

Quite cool rear, but OMG, what happened to the front??! Thankfully if it is that quick, the rear is the bit we will see the most!

Is the steering wheel on upside down too? looks like it might block the dash. Lambo/audi have the flat bit on the bottom don't they?

SP

ps just noticed, is the rear spoiler on backwards?

Are these articles shared between AutoTrader and Piston Heads or just written by the same person? Are Piston heads and Autotrader one and the same? What have I missed?

Boring.

Ugly, overpriced, wont do 260mph, and even if it did, who gives a fk. This will be the first and last time we'll hear about it.

Why do we have to keep being subjected to these stories, its hardly news is it? Every week we're treated to an eye-sore by some deluded independant car maker who's chasing a frankly unimportant target.

Top Fuellers do over 300mph in under 4 seconds, from standstill in under 1/4 mile. Thats fast. If I wanted to do 260 mph and had 900k, I'd buy one of them.

Conceived by idiots, designed by retards, all chasing the same deluded goal that no-one will ever acheive, even if it can reach its targets. Unless you live at Nardo or Ehra Lessien, and then it defeats the point.

Please make it stop.

Because there are people out there that will have more money than sense and will want a car that will do a squillion trillion billion miles and hour... no doubt it will never get up to that speed as it will just sit in a garage!

Paint it red and that front would look just like Salvador Dali's Mae West sofa. The world's first surrealist supercar?
