Right, I've bought two copies of GT4 (yes I know I'm behind the times! hehe) neither of which have worked in my PS2. I've read on the tinterweb that there are issues with the slimline PS2 and DL discs, but is there anything I can do to make it work?
It's driving (wink) me insane not being able to play (I get the 'unable to read disc' message) and as I don't know how old the console is (it was my brothers, who got it from a friend) going through the support side of Sony is probably going to achieve fk all!
Please help, I really wanted to lay on the sofa and play GT4 all weekend! driving
hehe

Have you tried any other games on it?

I had GT4 on my slimline PS2 and it definitely works (also works on my PS3 cool )

Sounds like the DVD drive is feckered.

I assume the game is the correct region? If you have a PAL console, unless chipped etc, NTSC/Jap games will not work.

Yup, PAL console, PAL game.
It wouldn't work earlier, but is now, so I'm leaving it on while I watch Scrubs incase it doesn't when I turn it back on! hehe
Bloody annoying though.

I'm sure the disc is fine, but i'll give it a try in my cousins fat PUSS2 this weekend.
Disc works fine, but it is very temperamental! frown
From what I read on tinterweb, it seems its just the tolerances in such a small machine that cause the problems. confused
Nice work there Sony! thumbup

Oh right, well I'm on my 2nd!
This disc is fine most of the time, but sometimes it won't read unless I turn the console on 2/3 times.
Oh well, could be worse! smile
