I seem to remeber you writing something on here about removing the breather pipe that goes to the air filter from the Rocker Cover and fitting a small filter to the Cover itself but I cant find the thread, can you recall what the subject was? (I had Air flow meters in mind)

If you don't find the topic - it is pretty straightforward to replace the breather pipe as you mentioned. If you get a new air filter (or use the old one and block up the breather inlet) you can remove the pipe that goes from the oil filler cap breather. You'll then need a new small breather filter (shiny add-ons section of Halfords or any boy-racer chrome emporiums sell them) which will have a selection of adapters to let you attach it to where the oil breather pipe used to go on the oil filler cap. Advantages are one less pipe in the engine bay plus less oily fumes being breathed by your pride and joy. Disadvantages are probably a few more unburnt HydroCarbon molecules being released into our atmosphere (breather filter won't be as efficient as combusting the oil fumes).

sorry I have just picked this up - been away on the hills this weekend... That thread was a long time ago but as Tony says, the upshot of it all was to simply fit a small breather filter (ebay or Halfrauds) for about a fiver...

I have just put a new pipercross filter on the S2 and didn't want to drill holes through it. So I drilled an 8mm hole in the air filter back plate, between the two electrical connectors on the air flow meters, fastened a 6mm pneumatic bulk head fitting on the back plate and connected the pipe to that. Looks allot neater and save messing the filter up!
