Need to do the discs/pads all round on my S1.

I work at a honda dealership so i'm thinking of having one of our honda mechanics do it.

But as they know fk all about the elise I was just wondering if it safe enough putting it up on a 4 poster ramp, or more to the point, where is it safe to do it (ie jacking points etc)and wether the under-trays will have to come off.

silly question I know but thanks for any help.

I cant answer your question re where to jack it, but I can offer a severe word of warning. With the engine obviously being in the back of the Elise, it is rear heavy. The jacking points indicated in the manual I dont think are meant for 4 point lifting, just using a jack.

I have seen more than one example of cars put on 4 point lifts and fallen off backwards. You will probably jack it up no probs, but as soon as you take a front wheel off, it may unbalance and come backwards off.

Be very very careful and ensure what youre doing before lifting it! Do a search on SELOC, or ring a dealer!

Dont know anything about putting cars on ramps but i do know that there have been many instances of Lotus cars falling off ramps at dealerships that are not familiar with them.
Someone posted on here a few weeks back about the car he was waiting to pick up that had fallen off a ramp whilst being prepped for delivery.

it can be done, but its tricky to do. get it wrong, and its expensive to repair the damage.

there is a guide in your owners manual on jacking points and where its possible to put on 4 posters

Should be using jacking points B&C. You need to remove the rear undertray to get to C (according to SELOC tech Wiki)...

Have a look in the handbook: shows the jacking points. alternatively look in the Seloc techwikithumbup
