Sorry about the CAPS but i could really do with an answer soon smile

In this thread i asked about a 2002 Audi A6 Avant 4.2. I went to see it today and it was really nice smile. I liked it a lot. I have allowed it to replace my 540 Beemer.

OK, cut to the chase. It has 129,000 on the clock and was last serviced at 118,000. Servicing is every 20,000 miles, as borne out by the service book.

BUT is it every year OR 20,000? That last service was a year ago.

So does it need a service NOW or at 138,000?

thanks for your help smile

Every year or 20k whichever comes first. Personally I would take it for a service right away, use that to negotiate the price.

With that age and mileage don't even look at Long life servicing (2yrs/19k on that engine) - keep it on annual servicing which is 12 months/12k.

yer when VAG's get to over 100k i would only do the 10k fixed servicing but otherwise every year or 20k which ever is sooner for variable.

As long as they are looked after and serviced on a regular basis then they are good for over 200k
