Police Quota for Pulling
Discussion
I've been told that a traffpol has to show a certain number of pulls each month. Is this true, and if so does it mean you get in a bit of a panic at the end of a month and you're standards start to drop, so in the last few days of a month you'd be prepared to pull anything with a pulse.
Certainly not true with my Force.
As ive said in earlier threads, if you drive around all day and dont answer any calls, then obviously you must show some kind of return of work.
On the other side of the coin theres no point in doing 15 tickets and not answering any calls. This does not assist our foot duty colleagues or the public.
The bottom line is that we are there to respond to incidents, if theres no incidents then we have to justify our time by other means.
Its also very hard to drive around for 8 hours and not see a numpty taking the pi**.

I heard that trafpol used to play snooker with cars to pass the time.. i.e. pulling a Red car, black car, red, black, red, blue etc etc.. doubtless an urban myth..
Matt.
Once had a brief acuse me of that when he was cross examining me........ive never heard of anyone playing that! Well to put it another way, ive never seen anyone playing it.

Ill give that one his due dident have too much to say pluss, he knew. I knew he couldent prove it.
I thought you meant the other sort of pulling, which reminded me of a story my brother told. He (Plod) was on a murder case and working out of police HQ in a major city. One of the lads working for him looked out of the window and said 'Hey, look at the t1ts on that; wouldn't mind waking up to her every morning, would you?'. They all went over to the window and my brother said 'I do mate, every day - she's my daughter'. Apparently everything went quiet.

How embarrasing is that !
Going back to the snooker idea - I was once driving my white car in front of my mum's black car.
Going down an unclassified road through a village in South Bucks faster than my mum - they didn't raise the speed gun for me, but they sure got it up quick for my mum....
Maybe it was my Micra (long gone) vs my Mum's Golf....?
