Dear all,

just picked up my 111r from Castle Lotus yesterday (who i can totally recommend) and have spent the weekend just driving. I never realised how much fun driving is until this weekend. The car is brillant and nothing like i have ever driven before. My mates all think it is excellent, even the wife is impressed.

only one slight problem is that i have an annoying rattle from what i think is the passenger door. any suggestions.

thanks

Put some tape around the door pin, sounds like it might not of have the larger diameter door pins fitted to stop the doors from rattling.

There will be the odd rattle from time to time.

I had the same problem when I picked my R up last year and took it to my local dealer, the door pin was slightly loose causing a rattle and the door to not sit flush with the bodywork. The dealer should be able to fix it especially if you just picked her up

Enjoy

You can get anti rattle door pins from Eliseparts.com. Theyre nothing special - just a wider diameter which takes up the slack in the lock.

i don't need them yet as my doors seem to be fine at the moment

got my 111r from Castle as well, a good bunch

noticed they've just launched a new website http://www.castlesportscars.co.uk/

Does anyone know if they are open tomorrow, bank holiday?

Hi - new here myself, got a new Elise S last week and have a creaking driver's door - would you describe it as a rattle or a creak?

Return to dealer and explain the problem and the warranty purchased with the car?

A decent Lotus dealer will be happy to help.

Dear all,

thanks very much for all your help. I will pop back to castle this week and see what they can do.

hello and welcome...

and enjoy - rattles and noises will be a thing you will come to live with - they are handbuilt and it means each one has individual character...

Just enjoy and make sure you play with the second cam wherever, and whenever possible hehe
