Does anyone know which sensor is number one and which is number two on the SP6, i.e. pots 1-3 or 4-6. I am looking to replace mine, have new sensors already, but I notice the plugs and sockets are the same. They could have been switched over in the past... I assume, dangerous, that they are wired correctly now but would like to be sure.

Anyone?

The front three 1,2,3 are LAMBDA1(NS exhaust can) and back three cylinders4,5,6 LAMBDA2 sensors(OS exhaust can).

A duff sensor will lead to over fuelling and soot on the relevant exhaust can.

On Lambda failure the ECU should over fuel by default to avoid engine damage from lean running and possible pinking/detonation.
If the No.36 circuit fuse has gone and the power steering is not working the Lambdas may not be either.

If not sorted the overfuel may destroy the catalysts.

Thanks G.

I understand the overfuelling in default, just wondered if they had ever been swapped in error prior to me looking at them. It seems to run OK. If they were swapped though...and all things being equal... would the layman notice? I see no ident on the sensor wiring other than on the harness, but not on the sensor flying leads. I will check tonight the wiring as per your note. Fitting the new sensors as well as more heat sheild and a bit of fine pipe adjusting to dodge the under trays. Ready for a blast after three weeks on stands I thinks smokin.

thanks again,

J

The front three 1,2,3 are LAMBDA1, harness cable black/red/white/yellow (NS exhaust can)

Above revised with harness cable colour ident

The front three 1,2,3 are LAMBDA1, harness cable black/red/white/yellow (NS exhaust can)

back three cylinders4,5,6 LAMBDA2 harness cable black/red/white/blue (OS exhaust can).

Cool colours... but Badgers are colour blind! laugh

Thanks G, when are you publishing your book, Sagaris repair for Badgers? wink
