Radiator fan switch

Does anyone know the part number and whose part the radiator thermo switch is, mine has switch the fans on.

The fan thermo switch is a standard 22mm thread so any make can be used. You will need to go through a catalogue at your local Motor factors and choose one that switches on and of at the temp you require. Your old unit may be marked with a part number but more likely its switching temperatures.

However, I have had more than one of these switches fail on me and have now fitted a Kenlowe adjustable which I can set where I want and gives me no problems.

OK then.......I have the adjustable switch in the rad, but what is the best temp to set it at to activate the fans?

Graham - factory standard switch is 95/90 IIRC (though I had a 93/93 from factory last time). I ran a 92/87 switch on the Can-Am. With cooling, prevention is better than cure, so you may want to go as low as 85.

Don't forget that your adjustable, and the factory switch, are working on the temp they see at the rad which may well be much lower than your gauge on the dash is reading as in most cases this will be from a sender somewhere on the top of the engine.
