Hey guys, just after some general advice really redface

Basically, I'm going for an Exige S2 (2005) soon and of course I'm aware of the newer supercharged S version out. Unfortunately, my budget is stretching enough to get a nice example of a normal S2 and unless you can find a good S under 25k (impossible right?) I will not be able to get one.

In reality though, on the road, what am I going to be missing? Sure, there's more torque, earlier cam change, etc. but is it going to make THAT much difference, considering the added weight? The car is going to be used as a daily driver as well as track days and euro road trips if that helps. I am also used to cars that you have to rev the nuts off and that don't get going 'till around 5/6k so I know I'd be used to the driving style of the N/A almost immediately, I just don't want to be left lusting after an S if it's that different from the N/A.

How reliable are the supercharger jobs you can have done to the N/A and what are the pro's and con's Vs. the factory supercharged option?

Thanks a lot!

I don't have long to reply unfortunately but the one thing I would say is drive both. The difference is far far more than an earlier cam change and slightly more power.

The supercharger brings a completely different character to the engine; some may prefer it, others not, so it's totally down to preference of course but having driven both and then decided on the S I really did think it made a huge difference; to the driveability, as well as outright speed.

Good luck with it thumbup

I have a upgraded my 05 NA Exige with a supercharger kit by Bemani and am not lusting after an Exige-S in the slightest...

Aftermarket supercharger conversions are reliable (at least the one I use is), have some distinct advantages over the factory supercharged ones, but are also expensive. Some also just prefer having a factory one (resale value?). Drive both, look at the finances, consider what options both offer over the time you'll want to own it and what suits you best.

Cheers Phil
