Hi there,

Well i've been trawling through the classifieds for a while now and recently ive noticed a huge number of vehicles (particularly from traders) that are appearing in the wrong categories..

eg. Freelanders by the bucket load appearing in the Rover 400 category etc.

This is just an example but it seems to be getting worse and its a pain in the backside if for example you're looking for a cheap hack and you have to trawl through pages of £20k+ 4x4s etc..

Yes i could filter etc but then you stand to filter out cars you want to see that have an unusual title..

It doesnt take much to put the cars in the right category... !!

cheers,

Nick

Hi Nick, I agree that it is a pain at the moment, but the problem is due to a few things:
1 - The categories for anyone adding an advert are done by the uploader of the advert, so if they choose the wrong category it takes us time to sort them out here.
2 - Some of the dealer feeds we get from third party companies need to be matched to our database and sometimes this gets it wrong. We are continually trying to improve these feeds so this doesn't happen, but we do have a more unique listing style than other sites, and thus we have to be slightly clever to make sure a Porsche 996 goes in the right area, or an Elise S2.
3 - We will be implementing some extra checking shortly that will spot cars out of category more easily that will resolve this issue better.

Hope that helps. smile
