Most people driving in France would carry a warning triangle as it's a legal requirement (in fact it's not, as long as you have working hazard flashers).

But take note, especially those going for an extended holiday after Le Mans: from 1st July 2008 it becomes a requirement to carry both a warning triangle and a hi-vis vest. Penalty if caught without them is 90€.

Should be made a legal requirement in UK too. I can think of a recent incident in North Wales where a change of underwear would not have been needed had a red warning triangle been in place way behind the broken-down vehicle.eek

Me too. Yesterday I came over the top of a bridge on a to find a Nissan 4x4 stopped by the side of the road with hazards on less than 100yard from the brow. Fortunately nothing large was coming the other way so I could go around it.
