Most people I know have gone the S02 or S03 route. Have a search of the Chimeara/Griff threads and see what other people have said.

F1 GS-D3s seem to be state of the art for road tyres for light sports cars. I don't think that anyone has switched BACK to S02or3PPs.

Got GS-D3's on the back of the Supra and they seem fine.

Never has any probs with the GS-D2 either, I still have 2 on the front of the Supra.

Paid £240 for 2 rear SO3's on the TVR at Elite in Rainham.

Same size Eagle F1's, fitted at a local garage, £188.

I've got the previous generation of F1's on my Chimaera (GS-D2's judging by what Supraman has said) and have been very impressed with them.

When I renew its either going to be the newer GS-D3's or Toyo T1S Proxies.

I had the Toyo's on my MR2 Turbo and was very impressed with them. I remember telling my brother about them when he had a Red Rose Tuscan fitted with SO2's, he kind of humoured me and just saw them as a budget tyre. Funny how TVR made them OEM for the Tuscan about 2 years later

Once upon a time he might have been right. 10 years ago Toyo was an unusual brand (like Chunkomatic etc) that only made tyres for lorries, IIRC. Obviously to get from there to TVRs they must have come on a bit!

If I go for the Toyos -do I have to get a specific TVR tyre ? ( the ones with the logo on ) or will the usual 225 50 ZR 16 do ? ?

I spoke to Toyo and they only do the TVR specific tyres in 18" and 19". The marking on the tyre wall is TT01. You'll have to stick to the usual ZR.

OK - so I just go for normal T1 S Proxies then ? I ask because I used to have Lexus as the "normal" car and it had Potenzas on it. We went for the Toyos and the sidewalls were real soft whereas the Bridgestones were stiff and the Lexy would head for the nearest ditch if you let go of the steering wheel - don't need that on the Chim !
