Brake failure apparently (according to thread in general motorsport)

Glad I'm not the one picking up the bill though...

There's quite a few replies sgging off his driving skills, maybe these people should realise that he's actually a very good driver! Brakes fail, it happens, no need to bad mouth!

I've been involved in arguements like this before, so I am going to ask politely, what are his credentials of being "actually a very good driver"?

I agree brakes do fail, Gary Prebble has also been crashed into more than once by other drivers.

Was just generally stating that he was a good driver, not the best or even close, but the cars brakes just seemed to have failed at a bad time while pulling off a funky manouvere.

Just to ask on the side, how are you recovering? Hope all is good.

I am fine, thanks, nothing to worry about.
Funky manouver? Thats a bit concerning, it looks like he was passing traffic from the video.

There is an in-car video on Simon's website showing the race, including the accident ...

http://www.norris-designs.co.uk/May%20day%20crash.... (61mb)

Shame about the end of the race ... it looked pretty entertaining up to that point frown

Comments I've seen on the Motorsport forum, from people who race and are in a decent position to judge, have criticised erratic driving and inconsistant lines through the corners.

As far as the accident goes - didn't look like there's a lot he could have done about it really - pretty much a passenger from the onset.

The crash aside, the car used to smoke quite well, im not sure if Mr Pebble was trying to overtake him to take the lead or ot save his lungs from some sort of clogging and or choking. . . laugh

I read the thread on the Lancer Register about this accident, and have completely lost all respect for Simon Norris since..

Someone called "Gerbilhead" makes a negative comment about Norris's driving "ability" and Norris threatens to go around to his house for a fight! Maybe it's just me, and he's only human after all, but surely a reputable tuner and racing driver shouldn't be acting like that?! I have to admit I was cringing reading the thread, an Alan Partridge moment if ever there was one.

All this added to the fact that the Lancer Register should be renamed the Simon Norris acensorede kissing register, makes the thread a very interesting read!

Not sure about a link to it, can anyone help?
