Two things,
(1) Whose going?, must be all of us if the grids are going to
be 70 cars plus
(2) The Britcar site states that space is going to be very
limited and asks if those with spare awning space want
to offer other teams the chance to share facilities
We only have the one car and would love to cut costs by not taking our big truck, awning etc, as we can fit everything we need into our sprinter van and tow the car but would need a home once there.
We don't expect this to be free of charge and would make an agreed contribution to costs so if anyone on here would like to offer us the opportunity of sharing their space, we would like to hear from you.
We do have a family type entourage in tow that includes children but they are well trained, and generally behave themselves, so we need a corner to store them safely

Hmmm, does anyone else feel a bit short changed on this one, although the Britcar race is 4 hours, its pretty much the graveyard shift at the end of the day....
For comparisson purposes the Britcar entry is 2704 Euros @ todays exchange rate, the headlining International GT Open entry fee is 2000 Euros for their 2 x 1 hour races + 4 practice sessions, whilst the Dutch Super Car challenge entry is only 1100 Euros (incidently their grid is full)
Will be interesting to see how many cars make it to Belgium, paddock might not be so cramped after all......

Whilst not commenting on how full or otherwise Britcar will be - although if last year is anything to go on the entry will be packed - with International GT & F3000 having the garages (I presume), the rest of the paddock has to hold DSC, Britcar, Formula Renault, Spanish F3, Lotus's etc. Probably getting on for another 200 cars - it will be heaving.
With regards the timing of the race, the purpose is to race through the twilight and finish as darkness descends upon Spa. So the timings are very deliberate!

In fairness to Britcar, we do have a 40' practice session, a 45' qualifying session and the 4 hour race, that's nearly 5.5 hours track time all in. DSC have about 3.25 hours all in and Int GT open have about 3.75 total.By your calculations, if my maths is up to scratch, that's
Britcar @ 491 euros per hour
DSC @ 338 euros per hour
IGT open @ 533 euros per hour
Better then some and more then others, mind you DSC have a long term arrangement with Spa, it's one of their "almost home" tracks and I think they may be there at least twice this season if not more, I do however accept that DSC entry fees are excellent value.
I'll stick with Britcar as the level of entry fees are reasonable for what you get, IMHO, and more importantly, the people that you share the race weekend with and compete against, are a pretty good bunch

I was going by the timing sheet issued by Spa and I included the free practice sessions for all examples, for DSC it was 45' on the Friday.1100euros divided by £1.24 = £887

They then have a 30' qualifying session and two 60' races on the Saturday and Sunday thus a total track time of 3hrs and 15mins or 195 mins. If one then takes your £887 figure and divides by 195 then it works out at £4.55 per min.
Britcar is £1795 plus vat, but take the net, for 330mins, that equals £5.44 per min so DSC is a touch cheaper but whose counting
As I said, DSC is very good value, but I prefer to race in Britcar as the fees are reasonable and the support on all levels, be it from fellow competitors and/or the Britcar/EERC team, is excellent.
