Scottish Motor Show @ Knockhill this weekend
Discussion
Don't know if anyone here is likely to be heading along but I'll be there on the Sunday with the Ro on the Vauxhall Sports Car Club stand. Short notice but we only had it confirmed by the organisers last night. We're supposed to be up next to the kart racing track for those that know the circuit. Its the main car event in Scotland for all the manufacturers, not usually club stands but they've let a small group of us in because we attend a lot of their events through the year.

Loads of demos on track, trade stands, supercar displays, new car previews etc. Should be a good couple of days if this weather holds.

Sunday was very grey and overcast but I still got roasted, nice shade of scarlet this morning
Good day out, spent a lot of it talking to the guys with the new Beira which is using the LS2 engine. Lot of the car is based on stock GM components so pointed them at the Aussie market for parts - seemed impressed with the ripshift on my Monaro so going to get one to try out for themselves. They're going to Goodwood Festival of Speed so go take a look if you're attending that. Sunday was mobbed but if I'm honest I think a lot of people will have left quite disappointed with what was there for the entry fee. Less to see and do than last year, rather worryingly Vauxhall were the only major manufacturer not represented there - even Ford turned up this year and they were giving away free ice cream. Needless to say they ended up with a few of the Vauxhall Sports Car Club hanging round their stand all day

Free Ice Cream, yip I noticed that one... was good too.
I liked the looks of the Beira, there was nobody about when I saw it. I'd read it was the LS1 that was in it, so they must have changed it? Take it you saw the 'vette with the LS7, nice.
I too was a bit disapointed with the lack of cars. Audi weren't there this year either. 2006 was the best one I've been to, with the Ferrari F1 car, 430GT, new Ford GT and Koenestig on the track. £15 was a bit steep, but a good day was had by all.
Saw a bloke with a HSV polo shirt on, but I was in the burger queue at the time and refused to loose my place! Anyone on here?

Beira that was there had a LS6 in it and their flyer was somewhat confusing - claimed they would be coming with a 5.7l LS2? Actually took an order for one while they were there so they were really pleased, aim to build 150 a year all being well. Exhaust sounded amazing and for 19" wheels they looked enormous - probably helped by being 10" wide at the rear. Not a lot of space under the bonnet with the current design so they'll have to take another look at it if they want to offer a supercharger option. What did impress me was the lack of twisting of the chassis as they revved it - looks like they've really got the engine mounts sorted out.
