Ive had a mechanical itch all my life and im in desperate need to scratch it! My idea is to turn a 340 into a very potent wolf in sheeps clothing.

I got the idea when about a year ago I saw one accelerate very quickly away with quite a bit of noise in Horley, Surrey (anyone one here?).

Im looking for 0-60 of around 6 seconds (not worried about how it handles). Is this going to be expensive and/or difficult to achieve?

not really the engine is a renault unit, stick in a hot 16v unit from a clio or megane and off you go.

How much will that set me back? Is there another engine that would fit and be even quicker?

The B18FT from the 440/460/480 turbo's will fit with a bit of modification to the exhaust manifold. 122hp as standard, but with a modified ECU 160-170 hp is easy with no further modifications. They aren't all revs either.
