Bluetooth issue

My blootooth stopped working? Did work absolutely fine since ive had my new phone (jan 08)

not sure if its the car or the phone but it just wont connect anymore?

anyone else had issues and how did you resolve them?

Depends on the car.
The handbook should have a laminated card in it showing the key specific to that car.

hmm. no real suggestions. Sounds like time to see the dealer, which of course means booking it in once - about a month ahead, for the, to them order parts and you to book it in AGAIN.

Have you renamed the phone? Bluetooth uses a unique number like an ethernet MAC address, and shouldn't rely on the name you give the device, but sometimes implementations are sloppy. So if the headset (or car or whatever) has the same hidden number and you change the name it can confuse things.

Obviously from this tread I'm shooting in the dark, but can you delete the phone from the car's list of paired devices and then re-pair?

I'm presuming you have a 335D and looking on the BMW Bluetooth site

the K850i is not on the list so will probably have limited functions and possibly have intermittent issues.
Try re-pairing it and see how it goes, if it packs up again get a compatible phone off the list and get a dual SIM card for using in the car.

And make sure you haven't got thousands of text messages stored on the phone! Mine really plays up when there are loads of text messages on the phone. If I delete them, it pairs up instantly...

I'd delete the pairing both on the phone and the car, and start again... Can you try another phone?

It had full access to all my phonebook and worked fine for 4 odd months untill 2 weeks ago. Stopped working mid journey and hasnt connected since. Switched off the bluetooth on the car and phone for a week now so will start them both up keep my fingers crossed!

On the older systems having too many text messages caused this. Have a good text message clear out and re-pair.
