Stoneleigh 2008 Show Feedback
Discussion
Thought it had a really good turn out and was well organised.
Would like to see more cars running/doing stuff in the future, but understand Westfield/GTM (can't remember the owner's name) wanted exclusive runs and that there's safety/insurance issues too.
Were there any new kits?
My dad was very interested in the Sprite body kit thing for Spridgets, but no idea if that's new?!

Was a good show, nice atmosphere.....
One of my friends made quite an amsuing suggestion....
He suggested that if the stoneliegh kit car show happened on that large scale at donnington park and they had full access to the track then it would be an awsome event!....Have all the kit car stands etc in the paddock area and have slots during the day for different cars to do parade/quick laps....perhaps have a track taxi as well....
not going to happen, but an interesting thought...(Donnington kit car show should have had more effort applied before it went down the pan!)

First time I've been as a non kit car owner/driver, and it's a different show. Parking in the fields was tight, and I wasnt ready to be mauled for the entry fee (should really have checked that one!)
On the upside, I thought it was reasonably busy on the Sunday, plenty to see and do. Great to see the Westfield display, could hear and smell it well before I saw it
Heard a few comments from people who didnt know there was an "inside" show as well, they thought it was all out on the stalls and the owners clubs. Exhibition halls werent clearly marked unless you knew where you were going and there was a reliance on following other people into a hall. Once inside there was plenty of the usual.
Would like to see more manufacturer involvement (a la Donington track) if there was the room for it at Stoneleigh
Should be back in a Quantum for Newark, which I always like seeing as it's so local. One day I'll be able to afford one of those nice GTM's

Donington Park simply doesn't have the facilities and the Stoneleigh Show is made by the sheer number of kit owners who make it a virtual annual pilgrimage simply because they've been going for more years than they care to remember.....I put some pics of the show here:

I had no grips with the camping...what more do you need than a field and somewhere to prop the BBQ up!
Thought the guy on the front gate was funny....Trying to charge the ferrari replica guys full entry fee because "they are driving MR2s with cheap body kits....if we let those in for free then all the barrys will be turning up with their saxos and corses expecting the same".....LOL!!!

My first visit, and I managed to buy a car...hope that doesn't happen every time
Would have been good to have some big signs outside the main halls, as someone else has said it wasn't that obvious where things were.
The only other thing I'd have maybe expected was some sort of parade or something like they seem to have at most car show / rally things, just to give it a centre really. But I guess that the main thing is sharing information and picking up parts, and it seemed very good for that. Didn't think that 12 squid to get in was out the way for a show like that these days.

Great to see you've used a pic of my Mojo as the thumbnail image for the Stoneleigh 08 gallery! http://www.allkitcar.com/EVENTI/2008/Stoneleigh08/...

Hope you liked the car...

Edit- I thought it was a good show, given the iffy weather forecast the turnout was good. The halls seemed a bit emptier than previous years, not sure if that was due to fewer exhibitors or exhibitors buying less space...
