Who did you get the domain from? I find it's best to host with the domain provider.

Unless it's 123-reg, without a doubt the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Lots of pistonheads seem to recommend www.register1.net - though I have never used them myself (have my own servers for my clients).

But not a host surely? I know they are brilliant for Imap though.

i use register 1 for my email diversion for my domain name, and gmail to hold it all.

gmail allows me to send emails as me qualified domain name, so im totally happy with this setup untill i need a mailserver

I use Fasthosts: http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/

They're cheap and reliable.

I'd say register1 every time. Reliable, excellent support, run by a PH'er. Just have a look in the computer forum, you'll see loads agree with me.

Ha yes, the bds nailed me for £6.56 by making me think I had to manually renew a domain I didn't want, so I let it lapse (or thought I had) - then they automatically took the money anyway. When I complained they started quoting small print at me. I said I'd been misled and that if they didn't refund me I'd invoke a chargeback. Amazingly they said:

'In the situation of a domain name renewal, we are unable to provide a refund, as we have already paid for the service from the registrar, and are unable to obtain a refund on the monies that we have paid. Please note that should a chargeback be made against 123-reg, company policy and procedure dictate that the 123-reg account that the chargeback has been made against shall be suspended.'

So I moved to www.heartinternet.co.uk and have just invoked my chargeback biggrin

I've been getting good service from http://www.3ix.com at about £17 per year, and that includes running 3 separate websites - when it came to renewing I thought I would try PH's "favourite" - didn't even have the courtesy to reply! So stayed elsewhere hehe

Cheers,

Neil

Every single email that comes in gets a reply, typically within 15 mins..

I'd suggest you check your Junk / Spam filter to ensure your current ISP hasn't sent it where it shouldn't be.

I 100% guarantee that no emails EVER are ignored.. even the most ridiculous of requests are replied to..

Drop me a mail via profile with details of when you sent, from whom, and the subject and I'll copy you the reply my guys sent.

No need to slap any of my sales team, they work bloody hard and do a stellar job... and indicated by the excellent comments I'm receiving about them / we get in the press and on public testimonial sites.
