Drag Demos - Some of the world’s fastest street legal cars will be making demonstration runs at the PTM Show including Street Eliminator Racers Andy Frost with his 7 second Vauxhall VX4/90 and Ray Comer with his Camaro.
Be great to see the cars this weekend

Hi John, not sure Andy will make it yet, last time I heard his car was still in bits waiting for some parts. I'm still testing a new combination but hopefully I'll be able to put some decent numbers up if we get enough runs.
Its great to see a jap car crossing over to mainstream drag racing, I hope a few more make the trip soon. Any plans for you to turn street legal and introduce a cat amongst the pidgeons in SE

Like Ray said we're still waiting on some parts to finish the car up.They should have been here weeks ago. It's an unfortunate part of racing.....Drag Demos - Some of the world’s fastest street legal cars will be making demonstration runs at the PTM Show including Street Eliminator Racers Andy Frost with his 7 second Vauxhall VX4/90 and Ray Comer with his Camaro.

It certainly was; unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the track by mid afternoon on the sunday.
Trying to put a 1000bhp down through treaded tyres was....interesting....to say the least. My last attempt resulted in blowing the tyres away at around the 30ft mark; frustration stepping in and applying the power again at the 60ft mark only to blow the tyres away again and finally anger stepping upto the mark (I know, I know, I should know better)and hitting it again only to lift the wheels and blow the tyres again.
Oh to be on slicks....

jesus how good was the weather all weekend - brilliant.
Now if the rest of the events in the year were like that weather wise we would be laughing !

What was the et for your last run of the day again , I know it was 193mph, was it a personal best ? and what a shame Mr Whittiker's Supra broke, bet you was looking forward to that challange.
Again - my 12 year old son persuaded me to go but them Skyline's are looking more tempting everytime, especially with today's fuel prices and mega thirst V8's

a skyline on boost can drink just as much fuel as an n/a v8
What about the drive to and from the Pod from Derbyshire ?
A mate of mine went to the Ace Cafe last week in his Plymouth SBC Sled from near the Donington junction on the M1, cost him £120 in total, do you think a Skyline would not be any cheaper ?
I do have a 24 valve 2.4 Nissan people carrier and it's a fair bit cheaper than the V8 I have.
Then again, we've got to keep Gordon Brown in the lifestyle he's living aint we (-:

Oh no it wasnt - i wish it was :-)
something weird me thinks with the boards, Et looked right 8.29 (we had run 8.30 run before) but the terminal showed on the timimg boards showed 193 & datalogger showed 167 mph.
Real shame on the 8.29 as had to back off full throttle for 1 sec as the car got into a right old weave at the top end around 150 mph (0.6 lateral g)was .14 quicker & 4 mph better to the 1/8th than on the previous 8.3 run.
best thing was all the work thats gone into concentrating on understanding the clutch & the launches & not power seems to be really paying off - runs went from 8.51, 8.44, 8.39, 8.31, 8.30 all at 1.6 bar boost.(870 rwhp) car has been mapped to 2.3 bar 1160 bhp so plenty to work with over the next few months/years. A few PB's over the weekend which was great.
Upped it to 1.8 for the last 8.29 run, we overlayed the graphs & reckon the last run would have been around 8.00 - 8.04 if the car had stayed straight.
Was a real shame Steve couldnt line up against us in the final as yet again he was so close to 7's 8.06 at 173mph. 2 runs against him in qualifying showed us we had to be off the line quicker & we managed it both qualifying runs (he was trying :-))
Really looking forward to the main event again from just more bum in seat time & just creeping the development further now we are understanding more & can start to feed more power in slowly.
the bloody datalogger shows there is no hiding place for me anymore, ie/ i've thought i was 100% full throttle on teh start line due to the popping & banging of the rev limiter only to find i was 200 revs short & creating hardly any boost on one run - lol no hiding place at all.

Ah Ah - thought it seemed to be touching Pro Mod territory but it did look quick,
The board certainly stated that but you would have gone by it by then - LOL
By the way - Does anyone else when sitting at the top of the Grandstands struggle to get a clear view of the boards because of those flags at the top of the trackside posts ?

I thought not but I didn't wish to say! There were some interesting runs at Easter too with Rick running 199mph and so did Paula Atkin! Of course I think this was a glitch in the system. (I suppose the term crisp packet might be used)Miss Corrado said:

You run arrroouunndd about (ish) the same numbers as Quantum Leap so I did wonder as QL goes 165mph over the 1/4.
