Just been reported in the local rag (the Courier) that one of the mature swan pair at Tayport was killed when two youth set their "Rottwiellers" onto it.

It has been reported that the male was killed "torn apart" in front of horrified children and parents on the common pond.

This has really pissed me off. I fed these birds (and the resident mallards) on Thursday morning after nightshift with my 5 1/2 year old daughter (NO, we fed them breadcrumbs).

There are 7 sygnets as well and the male was reportedly trying to protect them from the dogs.

Two youths have been cautioned and charged. WELL lets have their names and addresses then. Bastards.

i thought that swans were protected and were the property of the queen or something.

the mr fers should be tied up and have wolves set upon them (after winding them up and starving the wolves for a few days first)

Did it say if any action was taken to relieve them of ownership of the dog?

Too bloody right.. ...better still.. afterwards, set some angry swans on them, they're nasty buggers when they need to be.

Only the ones on the River Thames, unfortunately...
