Do these boats come up second hand ?

Been looking for a while now, and really love the shape of the hull on these

45k. Totally over rated boats in my opinion, seem to spend more time upside down / on their side when racing. Not very quick.

Half or even quarter the money and get yourself a proper boat. Phantom with a 2 stroke.

I know I'm hopelessly late but yes these boats are built by Cougar specififcally for the Formula 4 Stroke Association (commonly known as the Honda 4 Stroke Series)
Get in touch with Cougar direct about buying one, I'm guessing in the current financial climate, and given that most of the teams are self funded, that a couple may come up for sale. A partner of mine just picked up one of the 150hp class boats VERY cheaply and a years racing is only about £4k so if you do successfully pick a boat up you may as well campaign it.
A slight negative point, these boats are AMAZINGLY easy to turn over unless you are a very talented driver. It's a combination of the long narrow hull and a comparitively high C of G makes it tricky.
Best of luck though!

I think in fairness to Cougar having a b*stard great top heavy four stroke mounted on the back is the main cause. Still thats evolution for you

In essence driving one of these is about skill and judgement............in the 225 - you mess up and you pay!
They do corner flat out if balanced but bite back if you get it badly wrong.
All the boats are the same.

Its a focussed sport and needs learning and not like a simple point to point.

Here's our 225! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y99LSh2bjhw
