seen lots of infiniti g35 coupe's here in the us while on holiday.. and really quite like them..

afaik, they're basically a 350z with 2+2 seating and slightly different bodywork.. right?

what are they like to drive? as good as a 350z?

any other info/tips would be great..

thanks

There's one in and around Swindon, IMHO it's an ugly barge. I don't actually know what the power is like, suffice to say not as much as our Celica...

BUT it is a rare creature and that in itself makes me like it. Be proud to get something no one else has.

I drove an auto Skyline GT350 which is the JDM equivalent and I thought it was a very good car. 3.5 V6 with 280hp and 270 pound feet, rear wheel drive... what's not to like :-) Headroom in the back was the killer for me, couldn't imagine getting the parents in there.

You can get the performance edition that has Brembo's and a 6 spd manual :-

Would be a fun and classy drive.

I found the Saab 92X a bit strange - Subaru wagon meets Saab 95

Is it wrong to like that? Doubly so as it's in the Jap section.......

ah.. that's good to hear.
I was hoping is was quite 350z-like (albeit a bit softer, as it's a GranTourer).. but with a reason for being 1600kgs and so big.. i.e. 2+2 seating and a boot...

I really quite like the look of it too... admittedly the front is a little bland, but I prefer the back of it to the bakc of a Z.

here's the one in the states that took my eye the most (saw loads.. but this colour combo looked the best)

Are the tiptronic 'boxes on these any good? do they stay in the gear you've selected until you say otherwise, or do they change down at the redline regardless etc etc....

I've just bought a G35 sedan, and I pick it up in about 2 hours, 42 minutes smile

Early G35's are 260 bhp/260 ft'lb's, and 0-60 in 6.2, but 2005 + are 280, and 0-60 in 5.2, or so... They are 100kg's heavier than the 350Z

hmm... seems they're not as cheap as I had thought..

basically doesn't seem to be much in it price-wise between them and import Z's. I had thought they were a couple of grand cheaper... frown

i would opt for a 350z good cars easily tune able with various big single turbo kits front or rear mounted and various twinturbo set ups. none of these options will be exactly cheap mayby the cheapest being a twin turbo set up but custom manifolds would be a must have due to the lack of engine bay space there fore making it a nightmare to work on.

why would a Z be different to work on than a G35 coupe? its the same engine in the same engine bay (stretched chassis on the G35).

And im not sure a £4,000 turbo conversion kit can really put the car in the "easily tuneable" bracket. I mean, come on....
