Hi Di Ho

At last some decent Cerbing weather, so took the bananacar for a bit of a run last night. Everything hunky dory and put her to bed on the optimate and the dipstick out all as usual.

Rolled her out of the garage this evening and noticed a patch of fluid on the floor (typical, it completely missed the bloody drip try) and so my question is any ideas what it might be? I'd say that the quantity was around a quarter to half a tea cup full.

It seems to have come from just behind the front driver's side wheel; it was very thin, almost water like but with a pile of thicker, gungy material in the middle, almost like a cow pat (but definitely oil based).

PAS fluid is all OK, coolant level is OK, brake fluid is OK. I can get all gears (in fact they seem a little easier than normal) without any problems and there's no wetness in the drivers footwell. Been out in her again tonight and everything seems to be running normally and all guages are reading as they normally do.

So, anyone any ideas what it might be and where it's from? Isn't there some kind of oil separator on the right hand side of the engine? Could that be where it's from. I'm a tad worried and have no ideas!confused

Oil breather come loose under the off side airbox? It leaks a gloopy emulsified oil that sounds like what you describe. It would run down the F1 plate and drip onto the floor behind the ront wheel.

I find that it's the only way I can get an accurate reading.

Mine does that, on mine it's the oil breather, oil/sludge mixture works it's way to the front and drips from the little drain hole in the bottom of the front valance, offside .
