Really want to get back into cycling, and fancy something nice and shiney biggrin.
Budget.... well as little as possible, but want something half decent. (Duh, doesnt everyone). I was thinking maybe £600 top end.
I saw a Carrera something X in halfords, looks good for £600 but its discontinued and not availible in large, full sus would be nice, not critical.

What do you recommend, ive looked at various sites, been through mongoose, gt, giant, marin, orange, Santa Cruz..i wish and a few others. But anyone got recommendations, im about 6ft-6"2.

Comming from a Bmx and Dirt jumping MTB background, want something that will take a wack and not go breaking the first sign of rough ground, but mainly XC stuff.

IIRC £600 gets you a Specialized Rockhopper Disc, which whilst not the flashiest thing around, works well enough and is still a damn good bike from a good manufacturer smile

I have a norco mountaineer (not available in UK) but it's a great budget bike, seems pretty well constructed and certainly on a par if not better that my old spesh from 1992! Although the pedals are a bit low rent (i'll swap them when they fall off!) Those you mention are a couple of notches up in canada, so i would think they are a good bet
