Hi
I am interested in a diablo - what should I look out for, and does anyone know of any good ones for sale. Max price £60K.

Thanks

Have you decided which of the versions you'd like to have?

check the disks as they are prone to get hairline cracks around the vent holes. obviously check for warning lights. Just do the general checks. if you can contact a lamborghini dealer and ask if you can get a test and report done on a car you are interested in. they will put the car on the ramp and give you a list of all of the faults they find

Check for the obvious oil leak as engine fixes out can be expensive, make sure that no engine warning lights appear, make sure the suspension lift system is working (not all models have this), Make sure clutch is good. Blistering of some paintwork is common due to the ally panels especially front wheel arches and area behind the rear bumper. Ideally the car will be it's original colour as many frown upon colour changes. Think the model you choose depends on personal prefference, (2WD, VT, Roadster (poss), SV (poss)) should all be just about within your grasp with some very keen negotiation but (SE, 6.0, GT) are 90K+

Good luck

Thanks for the pointers. I like the look of the black VT at Amaris - anyone know it?

Do a search for them, and read some of the comments.

If you are going to Amari then you have not been paying attention!

....I get the picture - but surely the car is what it is and not dependent on who is selling it? If it is on SOR the dealer is just a middle man and cannot be held responsible for the condition or history of the car. The risk lies in the aftersales - something which you dont have with a private sale hence whats the difference?

Anniesland Trade Centre in Scotland have a very nice yellow 2WD for about £49k plus a blinged up blue VT around £59k.
Get some sort of warranty.
Anything going wrong on a Diablo is going to cost you a kidney.

Some years ago when Del Hopkins was stil working at Lambo UK met him on the motorshow stand with a mate who wanted to buy a s/h diablo. del's unequivocal ( unofficial) advice was go for a 4wd not a 2wd. tend to agree with it having experienced them. the 4wd or VT was a significantly more expensive car and is better for 'normal' driving, if such a thing exists in these cars!
More stable, better ride and better in rain. I live in Scotland so latter point is important!!!!
Would go to a respectable dealer.
Was in the blue VT at topgear cars and it was nice and under £60k, but decided on a countach qv instead! Yes i know that doesnt make sense!
Hope this helps
Paul
