New Member, New aquisition......
Discussion
Gents, I have been reading your discussions with great interest over the past few weeks following my aquisition of a 1997 Chimaera 500. She is a little dishevelled due to a lack of loving and a little too much sun, however she seems to start easliy, run well and has at least benefitted from regular servicing. The shocks and it seems most of the rubbery bits underneath are in need of renewal along with various peices of the interior that are not quite doing what they should be - seatbelts, worn trim and carpets, a dodgy looking mod to bring the central vents back and up with the window switches relocated and crudely mounted either side of the single crappy looking vent, a passenger window motor that has given up, a tatty hood and targa peice that has at some point parted company with the car at speed and suffered some bruising, wing mirrors that don't move, a broken seat (passenger), most if not all of the window / door seals having had their best days a while back, the roof needing a little stitching and the leather seats needing some very magical 'feed',plus the A/C needing fixed . Apart from these minor areas requiring attention, she is gorgeous in Cosmos blue metallic (which needs a bit of attention itself).
I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to ask if anyone had replaced the entire set of bushings (incl. those for the diff) and whether or not you used a kit or had a listing and purchased them seperately?
I have the Steve Heath manual on order so this may also give me some pointers.
Cheers, Dano

They are really quite bad and its a summer job here. There'll not be much motoring with the roof down for the next few months. Roll on the winter....
Oh yea, you're in the UAE. Once you get the chim sorted I reckon it will turn heads more than anything else there. enjoy!
