Fitted a set of golds, toyo tyres, balljoints about a month ago and now done about 500 miles.
Took the car to PPC today for a four wheel alignement and cambers set.
I spoke to paul and said i felt nervous with the backend feels wobbley under power in corners and he told me to increase the tyre pressures allready at 24/26
The car bounces alot so im wondering if it's a ride height problem both axels are level that was also checked running 12/15 clicks.
Without proper measurements body clearence 30mm approx.
Paul road tested the car and agreed in a fast corner it tends to oversteer which is controlable and in his opionion better that way than the other.
But i would like to stop the bounce but don't know what to adjust.
Anyone AB maybe?
Thanks,
V8 Animal
PS just fitted poly ARB bushes to complete the suspension got them from SH nice bit of kit and cheap too.

I don't like Chims at 15 clicks on the back , I think they feel too soft and I always run 18.
How does the front feel? because I sometimes up them a tad too.

Bell me if you want to discuss it.

Difficult to say where most of the bounce is but i'll try 15/18 tommorow and will let you know.
Thanks,
Paul

Been out today again it's a painbiggrin
Experimented with 15/18 noticed straight away car was stiffer alot more positive on the steering still bounced but not as much.
When stopped at destination reduced fronts back to 12.
This seemed better albeit not so grippy at front but still an improvement car did bounce but less.
Setting is now 12/18 when driving watching bonnett and wings and front did'nt seem to bounce when accelerating hard rear dips but less roll in corners so i reckon problem at the rear
Had a debate with B-I-L over ride heights and his opinion increase or decrease will make no difference to the handling just the shape of car.Saying that car is level and same gap over arches f/r
But if you raise the rear ride height ie shorten the spring it will have less travel and damp better.
Maybe it's me TVR built this car to be a softer ride than the griff but with patience i should get the ride that i want.

A nose down attitude of 10/15mm will win back some front grip so if you are leveI I'd lift the back.
If throwing the weight forward helps but still not enough grip, try less toe on the front. .

Thanks for that abit more tinkering on these warm nights.2 full turns = 5mm?
And the ride height arguement?

I'm not aware of any ride height argument.
If the bottom wishbones and steering rods are near enough level and the rear is 10/15mm higher, I have found that the cars have roughly 52% /48% weight distribution and that can't be bad.

I will have a play with the corner weighting guages this week and see how close to 50/50 I can get and how much rake that gives us static. Mind you, like Brian at Topcats I agree the cross weights are more important on road cars.

Had the time to check the ride heights today and going of the info posted on hear i was right the rear too low.
Raised the rear 20mm the fronts were spot on.25/40 RH 12/18 Damping car much better with limited bounce.
Thanks for all your help ABthumbup
Car now drives similiar to my westfield that i had before buying this.
